A steel-cutting ceremony has been held for the first polar explorer newbuild in the Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic fleet at Ulstein Verft shipyard in Norway.

Featuring an X-bow, zero-speed stabilisers and fuel and water tanks that allow for extended operations in remote areas, the vessel will be ready for her first expedition in the first quarter 2020.

The expedition cruise ship was designed in Norway with a focus on safety and comfort.

Lindblad Expeditions is an expedition travel company that works with National Geographic to inspire people to explore and care about the planet, interacting with leading scientists, naturalists and researchers in natural environments.
