Grammy award-winning artist, award-winning actor, label president, author and entrepreneur Queen Latifah has been named as godmother to Carnival Cruise Line's newest ship, Carnival Horizon.
The Chicago star will christen the 321-metre vessel at an invitation-only gala in New York City on May 23.
The 133,500-tonne vessel is being constructed at Fincantieri's Marghera shipyard in Italy.
Carnival Horizon will feature a Dr Seuss-themed WaterWorks aqua park and the Seaside Theatre with poolside LED screen.
