Port of Tallinn installs shore charging facilities
Published on

Five piers in Tallinn Old City Harbour in Estonia are now equipped with shore charging facilities installed by the Port of Tallinn in cooperation with power specialist ABB and local companies Elero and Scaleup.

The facilities will enable cruise ships and other passenger vessels to reduce emissions and noise pollution by using shore power instead of their own fuel for their onboard systems during port stays at the Old City Harbour.

The project has a total investment value of €3.5 million (US$4.15 million).
