MSC Magnifica to get additional cabins, emissions reduction systems for 2021 cruise season
Published on

The MSC Cruises vessel MSC Magnifica is set to undergo a €130 million (US$141 million) modification programme before the beginning of the 2021 summer cruise season.

The vessel will be lengthened by 23 metres, which will result in an additional 7,000 square metres of space that would accommodate 215 extra cabins, a larger sundeck, two new restaurants, a water park, and a shopping area.

MSC Magnifica will be equipped with a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system that would convert nitrogen oxide into pure nitrogen and water as well as an advanced wastewater treatment system and an exhaust gas cleaning system. The vessel will also become capable of shore-based electrical charging at ports where such services are available.
