Japan's Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) has decided to integrate its two wholly-owned ferry and coastal Ro-Ro vessel operating companies, MOL Ferry and Ferry Sunflower, into a single entity.

The companies are scheduled to complete the merger on October 1, 2023. MOL Ferry will be the surviving company, and MOL claims the merged entity will be Japan's largest ferry and coastal Ro-Ro vessel company.

MOL will also establish a new business unit in April 2023, bringing together its ferry, coastal Ro-Ro vessel, real estate, and cruise ship businesses.
