Norway's Green Yard Kleven has been selected to perform conversion work on a coastal vessel owned by local cruise operator Hurtigruten to enable it to run on hybrid propulsion.

The 2002-built Finnmarken will be renamed Otto Sverdrup upon completion of the retrofit, which is expected in the spring of 2021. The propulsion system will consist of diesel engines and a battery pack.

Once back in service, the vessel will begin operating as an expedition cruise ship.
