Costa Cruises formally named the newest addition to its fleet in a ceremony in Barcelona, Spain, on Thursday, June 16.
The LNG-fueled, 6,554-guest Costa Toscana was built by Finland's Meyer Turku. The newbuild replaces near identical sister Costa Smeralda as Costa Cruises' flagship.
Costa Toscana sailed on its maiden operational voyage out of its homeport of Savona in Italy on March 5. The ship will continue serving Western Mediterranean itineraries through to the summer of 2022 while destinations including Naples and the Canary Islands will be added by the following November.
