Construction starts on second Global-class ship for Genting

A steel-cutting ceremony was recently held at MV Werften to mark the start of construction of the second Global-class cruise ship ordered by Genting Hong Kong.

The vessel, which has been temporarily named Global 2, will have a length of 342 metres, a beam of 46 metres, a crew of 2,200, and capacity for 9,500 passengers.

Keel-laying of Global 2 is scheduled for December of this year while delivery will take place in 2022. Sister vessel Global 1 will sail under the name Global Dream in 2021.
