Cochin Port announces new cruise terminal

Cochin Port Trust has announced the construction of a new cruise terminal at the port with the facilities to handle 5,000 tourists.

Construction of the Ernakulam Wharf terminal is planned to be completed by February 2020.

The facilities inside the 2,253m2 terminal would include a passenger lounge, crew lounge, 30 immigration counters, eight customs clearance counters, seven security check counters, tourist information counter, and shopping areas.

The estimated cost of construction of the terminal is ₹25.72-crore (US$3.73 million) and of this ₹21.41-crore has been sanctioned as a grant by the Ministry of Tourism.
