CMV unveils names of two newest additions to fleet
Published on:

UK-based Cruise and Maritime Voyages (CMV) has confirmed that two cruise ships that are set to begin serving company's itineraries in 2021 will be named after two female personalities who have gained fame in the field of world travel and exploration.

Pacific Dawn and Pacific Aria will be acquired from P&O Australia and will be renamed Amy Johnson and Ida Pfeiffer, respectively. Amy Johnson was a pioneering English pilot who, in 1931, became the first woman to fly solo from London to Australia while Ida Pfeiffer was an Austrian explorer, travel writer, and ethnographer who set off on two around-the-world voyages in 1846 and 1851.

Amy Johnson will be deployed on the UK market in late May 2021, replacing Columbus as CMV's flagship, while Ida Pfeiffer will sail under the TransOcean Kreuzfahrten brand serving the German market.
