Myklebust Shipyard has been awarded a contract to perform a major upgrade of the well intervention vessel AKOFS Seafarer.

The vessel is scheduled to arrive at Myklebust's yard in Gursken in May 2019.

Upgrade work will be carried out before AKOFS Seafarer's planned return to service in the first quarter of 2020, after which it will commence a five-year light well intervention contract with Equinor.

This is Myklebust's second vessel upgrade project for AKOFS Offshore following a similar project for AKER Wayfarer (pictured) completed in 2016.
