Geoquip Marine has added a second DP2 multi-purpose platform supply vessel (PSV) to its fleet.
Built in 2010, the 84-metre, 3,500-tonne Cristal will sail as Geoquip Speer with its new owners. It is currently undergoing expansion of its moonpool and other upgrades to enhance its suitability for international DP operations.
When the refit is completed, the vessel will commence its first assignment, undertaking seabed cone penetration testing (CPT) work in the Moray Firth offshore wind farms before embarking on assignments in the Mediterranean and the United States.
Geoquip Speer is the company's second DP2 PSV after the recently acquired Geoquip Saentis (pictured).
