Polar Queen awarded UK time charter

GC Rieber Shipping has entered into a time-charter agreement with a European client for the construction support vessel Polar Queen.

The agreement is for a fixed period of four months. There are also options to extend by up to one month.

Starting in May, Polar Queen will be used in the British sector to perform walk-to-work duties.

The 110.6-metre LOA by 20-metre Polar Queen is a multipurpose subsea vessel that can assist offshore construction and inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR) operations.

She is equipped with an AMC motion-compensated gangway, cargo elevator, boat landing to serve crew-transfer vessels, and temporary living quarters that increase the accommodation capacity to 136 persons.
