Norwegian shipowner Edda Wind formally named its newest commissioning service operation vessel (CSOV) in a ceremony at the Castropol facilities of Spanish builder Gondan on Saturday, March 12.

The Salt Ship-designed Edda Breeze measures 88.3 by 19.7 metres and will be capable of accommodating hydrogen propulsion technology once it becomes available in future. The vessel will also have accommodations for 93 technicians in addition to its crew complement of 27.

The CSOV will be fitted with a 3D motion-compensated crane and a gangway with a maximum range of 28 metres. An integrated lift will have capacity for 26 personnel.

Edda Breeze will support charterer Ocean Breeze during its operation at the Bard 1 offshore wind farm in Germany.
