UK-based Seajacks International has been awarded a contract to install turbine foundations at the Akita and Noshiro offshore wind farms in Japan.

Seajacks' wholly owned subsidiary Seajacks Japan will serve the contract, which was awarded by a consortium led by Marubeni Corporation.

The platform Seajacks Zaratan will begin installing the 33 foundations at the wind farms in 2021.

The project is Seajack's first in Japanese waters.
