Jan De Nul's offshore jack-up installation vessel Voltaire has been selected to provide transportation and installation (T&I) services for the Dogger Bank Wind Farms in the North Sea 130 kilometres off the Yorkshire Coast.

Installation of the turbines will take place in water depths between 20 and 35 metres.

The work will commence in 2022 after Voltaire enters service following completion and delivery by COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry.

When complete, Dogger Bank will generate enough energy to power over 4.5 million homes every year, or around five per cent of the UK's electricity needs. The wind farm project is a 50:50 joint venture between Equinor and SSE Renewables.
