Cadeler has placed an order for the construction of the third windfarm installation vessel in a series, which will also be the eleventh vessel to join the company's fleet.

The self-elevating vessel is scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2027. It will be built by COSCO Heavy Industries in Qidong, China, to design standards that will permit it to sail under the Danish flag.

Like its sisters, the vessel will have total deck space of approximately 5,600 square metres, a payload of more than 17,000 tonnes, and a main crane capacity to be disclosed at a later date.

The vessel will be able to transport and install seven complete 15MW turbine sets per load or six sets of 2XL monopile foundations, reducing the number of transits needed for each project. Cadeler said its design will enable it to cater for some of the largest dimensions of turbine components in the offshore wind industry.
