Ultra Deep Solutions (UDS) has been awarded a major charter contract for its diving support construction vessel (DSCV) Lichtenstein for three years.

Multiple one-year options are also in place for the Lichtenstein charter with the undisclosed client.

The 120-metre DSCV will finish a contract in the Middle East and head directly to the Gulf of Mexico, South America and Caribbean area.

Accommodating 130 people, the MT Norway-designed Lichtenstein has a 140-tonne AHC crane to 3,000MSW, twin bell 18-men saturation system and twin 18-men SPHLs.

She has a 1300-square-metre main deck for flexible reel laying.

UDS Chief Executive Shel Hutton said it was a third major contract UDS had landed in December.

"We always knew the end of 2017 was going to be the turning point in the oil downturn," said Mr Hutton.
