Project 22870 tug Kapitan Guriev delivered to Russian Navy

United Shipbuilding Corporation's (USC) Astrakhan Shipyard delivered a newbuild tug to the Russian Navy's Black Sea Fleet on Thursday, December 20.

Kapitan Guriev is the fifth vessel under the Project 22870 series of escort tugs. It has a length of 57 metres, a width of 14 metres, a displacement of 1,200 tonnes, and a speed of 14 knots.

Like its sister vessels, Kapitan Guriev can also perform limited search and rescue (SAR), survey, and dive support services in addition to ship handling/escort duties.
