Indian Navy orders five dive support vessels from local shipyard

The Indian Navy has awarded Kolkata-based shipbuilder Titagarh Wagons a contract for the construction and delivery of five dive support vessels.

The vessels' primary duties will also include salvage operations, maintenance, and underwater repairs, particularly in and near harbours.

The contract has an approximate value of INR1.74 billion (US$24 million).
