Singapore shipbuilder Strategic Marine has handed over a new fast catamaran crewboat to an undisclosed South Korean owner.

The newbuild will support the activities of clients in the South Korean domestic offshore wind industry.

The crewboat has all-aluminium construction, an LOA of 27 metres, a moulded beam of 8.9 metres, a design draught of 1.5 metres, and a deadweight tonnage of 35. Two main engines will propel the vessel to speeds of up to 26 knots.

The bridge deck layout will offer improved visibility from the helm and an ergonomic layout to increase comfort for the bridge crew. Internal arrangements have also been optimised for improved comfort and workflow with ample storage space, comfortable sleeping areas, and business class seating.

The 82-square-metre open forward deck is fitted with a knuckle boom crane for loading and unloading various payloads. Accommodations are meanwhile available for three crewmembers and up to 24 technicians.

Facilities include four two-berth and one single-berth cabins.
