Netherlands-based SeaZip Offshore Service has expanded its fleet with the recent acquisition of two fast catamaran crewboats formerly owned by UK operator Wind Energy Marine.
The 2018-built WEM 1 and WEM 2 have been renamed SeaZip 7 and SeaZip 8. Each vessel has capacity for 24 passengers as well as waterjets to allow for operation in shallower waters compared to SeaZip's existing fixed propeller-equipped crewboats.
Jan Reier Arends, Owning Manager of SeaZip, said the purchase of the crewboats was a price-competitive alternative to vessel newbuilding projects.
