Northern Offshore Services unveils hybrid CTV series

Swedish offshore services company Northern Offshore Services (NOS) has unveiled a new series of windfarm crew transfer vessel (CTV) that will run on a four-mode hybrid propulsion system.

The vessel will have an LOA of 34 metres, seating for 24 passengers, a bollard pull of 30 tonnes, four MTU V200M72 engines, and onboard batteries that may be recharged from shore or from wind farms.

Delivery of Energizer, the first vessel in the series, is scheduled for the end of 2020.
