Dutch companies Coastwise Offshore Services and Next Generation Shipyards have entered into an agreement for the construction of the second unit in a series of aluminium-hulled offshore windfarm crewboats.
The vessel's design is expected to provide the stability of a traditional catamaran and the speed and fuel efficiency of a monohull. It will have a length of 27 metres, space for 30 passengers and 22 tonnes of cargo, a deck crane, and a cruising speed of 27 knots.
The crewboat will be named COS Mate following delivery to Coastwise in the middle of 2022.
Commercial management will be delegated to SeaZip Offshore Service.
