Netherlands-based OSD-IMT recently completed the design of a new multi-purpose vessel for operator Smit Lamnalco.

The vessel will have a DP2 system, a working deck area of 185 square metres, an offshore rated crane that can lift 6.5 tonnes, and space for 20 personnel. Two 2,900kW main engines will deliver a free running speed of 13.5 knots.

Duties will include standby and rescue, emergency towing, firefighting, ROV support, dive support, crew and pilot transfers, and oil recovery.

Construction of the vessel has already commenced at Uzmar Shipyard in Turkey. Delivery is scheduled for March 2022.
