Maersk Supply Service's Starfish-class vessels Maersk Master and Maersk Mariner have started a charter contract with Quadrant Energy off Western Australia.
Designed by Salt Ship Design, the DP2 deep water anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels have a 252-tonne bollard pull and 924-square-metre deck area.
Powered by a hybrid propulsion system delivering more than 17,150kW, Maersk Master is equipped with a multi-deck handler system, anchor recovery frame, gypsy handling system and other aids.
The 2017-built vessels will support Quadrant Energy's Phoenix South and Van Gogh drilling campaign, which will cover three wells for a duration of 150 to 200 days.
They will support Transocean's semi-submersible rig DD1 with supply and anchor-handling duties.
It comes a month after Norwegian shipbuilder Kleven Werft delivered the third Starfish-class vessel named Maersk Mover to Maersk Supply Service.
