Petrobras secures AHTS charter contracts for Brazil

Brazil-based Petrobras subsidiary Petróleo Brasileiro has awarded a one-year firm contract to Solstad Farstad for the supply of two anchor-handling tug supply vessels (AHTS).

The 2001-built AHTS Far Scout with a 186-tonne bollard pull and 2007-built BOS Turquesa with a 190-tonne bollard pull vessels will support exploration and production activities on the Brazilian continental shelf.

Far Scout will be equipped with Fugro's work-class remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV) that is suitable for operations in water depths of up to 3,000 metres.

The contract, which starts in the third quarter of 2018, includes an option to extend the charter for a further year.
