Engineering and construction works are underway in Africa and South America while newly awarded survey contracts cover different areas from the Indo-Pacific to Western Europe.

Maersk Supply Service secures work in Brazil

Maersk Supply Service has been awarded a contract on behalf of Shell Brasil for the mooring line remediation of the floating production storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) Fluminense located off the coast of Rio de Janeiro.

The scope of the project includes remediation work on two of the FPSO's mooring lines. With the onshore engineering already well underway, offshore operations are due to run for three weeks from late August 2022.

The offshore work will utilise up to three of Maersk Supply Service's anchor handling vessels to hold the FPSO on station and perform subsea operations.

Saipem bags two EPC contracts in Angola

Saipem has been awarded two new offshore contracts by the New Gas Consortium composed of two wholly owned subsidiaries of Azule Energy, Sonangol P&P, Chevron, and TotalEnergies.

The contracts call for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) activities relevant to the Quiluma and Maboqueiro fields development project off the northwest coast of Angola.

The EPC scope includes hook-up and commissioning assistance of the Quiluma platform and of the relevant onshore natural gas processing plant.

Magseis Fairfield tapped for OBN surveys

Magseis Fairfield has entered into an agreement with Esso Exploration and Production Guyana (EEPGL) for a large ocean bottom node (OBN) project offshore Guyana. The project has an approximate duration of at least 14 months.

Magseis Fairfield has also secured an award for a 4D OBN survey on behalf of an undisclosed customer in Asia. Acquisition will commence in the fourth quarter of 2022 and will last approximately one month.

Shearwater GeoServices awarded multiple contracts

Shearwater GeoServices has been awarded a 3D survey of the Devil's Hole Horst prospect in the UK North Sea by North Sea Natural Resources (NSNR).

The towed streamer survey covers approximately 1,586 square kilometres and will be carried out by SW Bly. The one-month project will commence imminently.

The company has also secured a contract from an undisclosed customer for a large "nodes-on-a-rope" ocean bottom project to be conducted in the second half of this year. The survey will be carried out in European waters.

Shearwater GeoServices has also been awarded a large time-lapse seismic imaging project for Chevron Australia. The acquisition will cover the Wheatstone gas field off Western Australia.

Lastly, the company has been awarded multiple contracts by a repeat customer for seismic surveys offshore India. The contracts represent a total of approximately 21 vessel months of activity.

The awarded contracts in India comprise three 2D projects representing 13 vessel months of backlog, and two 3D projects for a further eight vessel months. Shearwater will deploy several vessels from its active fleet for the surveys, which are scheduled to commence in October 2022 with completion by June 2023.
