Dutch marine services provider Herman Senior has placed an order with Damen Shipyards Group for a newly-developed multi-purpose workboat with DP2 capabilities.
The vessel, which will be named Brutus, will be built at Damen Shipyards Hardinxveld.
It will have a length of 35 metres, a width of 14 metres, free deck space of 150 square metres, a draught of 2.7 metres at full tank capacity, a draught of 2.4 metres at 50 per cent capacity, and a bollard pull of 60 tonnes.
Four Caterpillar C32 ACERT engines will deliver a total of 3,879kW to four 1,900-millimetre nozzles. The vessel will carry a crew of six but will have accommodation for up to 22 personnel.
Brutus will perform anchor handling, towage, windfarm support and maintenance, ROV surveys, and cable-laying among other roles.
Delivery is scheduled for the spring of 2020.
