Petrobras has extended its charter of the floating production storage and offloading unit (FPSO) Cidade de Niterói MV18 until March 2024.

The MODEC FPSO has been operating at the Marim Leste oil field in the Campos basin offshore Brazil since February 2009.

MODEC previously performed engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning of the FPSO, with SOFEC designing and supplying the spread mooring system.

The vessel, moored in 1,400 metres of water, can process 100,000 barrels per day of crude oil and 3.5 million standard cubic metres of gas per day, and has a crude storage capacity of 1,600,000 barrels.

Since the start of the charter it has produced and offloaded almost 120 million barrels of crude oil.
