Summit LNG, a floating storage regasification unit (FSRU), has arrived and is now moored in the Bay of Bengal in preparations for sending out regasified LNG to the Bangladesh national grid via subsea pipeline.
Summit Power International of Singapore has time chartered to purchase the vessel, which presently carries LNG from Qatar, from US-based Excelerate Energy for 15 years.
The FSRU is able to regasify up to 14 million cubic metres of LNG daily.
Summit said that the vessel is expected to start supplying LNG to the national grid by the end of April.
