Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) and German gas company Uniper will jointly develop a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) at the Uniper site in Wilhelmshaven.

The FSRU will have a planned send-out capacity of 10 billion cubic metres per annum and an LNG storage capacity of 263,000 cubic metres.

The facility could be in operation as early as 2022. The project will utilise the existing site in Wilhelmshaven where the required infrastructure is already in place.
