Atlantic Offshore standby vessel to be rebuilt as renewables support platform

Published on

An emergency response and rescue vessel (ERRV) belonging to the fleet of Norwegian owner Atlantic Offshore will undergo conversion into a renewables support vessel prior to commencing a three-year time charter with UK-based subsea specialist Sulmara.

The refit on the 2014-built, DP2-capable Ocean Marlin will entail installation of survey equipment and a subsea crane with active heave compensation as well as the creation of additional berthing space. The vessel will also have space for accommodating and deploying remotely operated vehicles.

Sulmara expects the refit on Ocean Marlin will be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2024. The vessel will afterwards be deployed to serve projects across Europe.
