Platform supply vessels (PSVs) and construction support vessels (CSVs) take centre stage in this week's roundup of recently awarded offshore charters. Just as interestingly, much of the work continues to be concentrated in offshore wind in Europe, further cementing the region's place as the leader in this segment of the renewables market.
BOA to support DEME at Saint-Nazaire wind farm
BOA has been awarded a new contract wherein the CSV BOA Sub C will provide walk-to-work and ROV support for DEME Group. The vessel will be deployed at the Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm in France to serve the contract.
Commencement will be in the second quarter of 2021 for a period of 220 days firm plus options.
MHI Vestas taps Solstad vessel for Triton Knoll walk-to-work support
Moving over to UK waters, we will soon see increased activity at the Triton Knoll windfarm off Lincolnshire, hence MHI Vestas' hiring of the Solstad Offshore CSV Normand Fortress to provide support for its walk-to-work operations at the site.
The firm period of the contract is 140 days plus options thereafter. Commencement of the work will be in March 2021.
DOF PSV secures work in North Sea
UK confidence in Norwegian offshore support capability remains strong as evidenced by DOF PSV Skandi Kvitsøy being awarded a long-term contract for work in the North Sea by an unnamed local multi-national energy company.
The charter contract will commence in the first quarter of 2021 and will have a duration of one year firm plus two one-year options.
Siem CSV awarded six-month contract by GE
Rounding up this week's offshore wind project charters is the award of a six months' firm contract by GE Renewable Energy to Siem Offshore for the subsea CSV Siem Stingray.
The charter will commence in April 2021 and will also include options.
Eidesvik PSV wins Aker BP charter
Eidesvik Offshore has been awarded a time charter contract with Aker BP for the PSV Viking Prince. The contract is awarded under a current frame agreement for a drilling campaign.
The contract period will have a maximum of 120 days, with commencement scheduled for April 2021.
ADES jackup bags Suez drilling gig
UAE-based ADES International Holding has confirmed that its jackup drilling rig Admarine 5 will be deployed for work with an unnamed oil and gas operator in the Gulf of Suez.
The contract has a firm period of six months and an option to extend by an additional six months.
