Ulstein has unveiled a new series of heavy lift jack-up rig optimised to carry out wind turbine installation work.

Each rig in the series will have a length of 145 metres, a width of 88.4 metres, a depth of 11 metres, a water depth of 65 metres, a free deck area of 6,500 square metres, and accommodations for 120 personnel.

There will also be a 2,500-tonne crane with a 160-metre hook height above deck, which the designers claim will enable the rig to carry and install up to four 15MW wind turbines per round trip.
