Ørsted has awarded Van Oord the contract for cable installation works at the Borselle I and II offshore wind farm located 23 kilometres off the coast of Zeeland, the Netherlands.
Construction of the wind farm is scheduled for 2020.
Van Oord is responsible for the transportation, installation, and burial of 94 inter-array cables with a total length of 167 kilometres.
The company will deploy its dedicated cable-laying vessel Nexus for the installation of the cables while the trencher ROV Dig-It will bury the cables to the required depth of two metres.
