CSBC Corporation has laid the keel for the first offshore installation vessel to be built in Taiwan.

Green Jade will be owned by CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering (CDWE), a joint venture between CSBC and Belgium's DEME Offshore. It will have a DP3 system and a 4,000-tonne crane capacity ideal for large wind turbines, jackets, and other components.

The vessel is expected to enter service in 2022. It will initially be deployed to support the Hai Long and Zhong Neng offshore wind farms in Taiwanese waters.
