Asso.Subsea Group of Greece has taken delivery of a new 111kW 1,000-metre-rated work class remotely operated vehicle (ROV) complete with launch and recovery system from UK-based unmanned systems specialist Soil Machine Dynamics (SMD).

The vessel will join two 74kW 3,000-metre-rated ROVs which SMD supplied to Asso.Subsea in 2012 and 2014, respectively.

The new ROV will be installed onboard the DP2 multi-purpose service vessel Asso.Subsea Astrea to support cable laying, protection, and repair. It may also be utilised in salvage operations.
