Norwegian vessel owner Eidesvik has signed a letter of intent with Netherlands-based Seabed Geosolutions, a Fugro-CGG joint venture, for the use of Subsea Viking and research/survey vessel Vantage.
The 103-metre by 22-metre Subsea Viking is a construction/flex-lay vessel with two work-class, 3,000-metre-rated remotely operated underwater vehicles (ROV) and well-abandonment capability.
Accommodating 70 people, she has an 1,100-square-metre deck area, a heave-compensated 100-tonne crane and a 1,200-tonne capacity underdeck product carousel.
The 93.4-metre by 22-metre Vantage was built in 2002.
The Oslo-listed Eidesvik said the two vessels should start within a month. The charters are expected to last until the end of 2018.
The commercial terms have remained confidential.
