Maintenance and light construction vessels take on new contracts in Europe while charters have been announced for drillships, including one currently under construction in South Korea.
Solstad secures CSV, PSV contracts in North Sea
Norway's Solstad Offshore has been awarded a contract by DeepOcean for use of the construction support vessel (CSV) Normand Ocean for IMR and light construction projects in the North Sea.
Normand Ocean has been on contract to DeepOcean since 2014. With the new contract, the vessel will be on firm contract with DeepOcean to the end of 2023.
In addition, there is an option to extend the contract by one more year.
Meanwhile, Solstad's platform supply vessels (PSVs) Normand Service and Normand Supra have been selected to serve long-term contracts with UK-based Harbour Energy in the North Sea. Each contract has a firm period of two years plus two years options thereafter.
Both vessels will support Harbour Energy's UK North Sea assets.
Golden Energy Offshore IMR vessel to continue working with Fugro
Golden Energy Offshore's (GEOS) IMR vessel Despina has been awarded an extension of two months to its existing charter with Fugro. The vessel's new contract duration is firm until October of this year.
GEOS said Fugro still has several weeks of options thereafter.
TotalEnergies exercises options for Havila Shipping PSV pair
TotalEnergies Danmark has exercised options for the Havila Shipping PSVs Havila Herøy and Havila Fanø.
The firm period is now until December 1, 2021 for Havila Fanø with a one-month option remaining and until January 1, 2022 for Havila Herøy.
Maersk Drilling awarded two-well extension in Brazil
Karoon Energy has exercised an option to add the drilling of two development wells at the Patola field offshore Brazil to the work scope of the semi-submersible rig Mærsk Developer.
The work will commence in the second half of 2022 in direct continuation of the rig's previously agreed work scope with Karoon Energy.
The contract extension has a firm duration of 120 days and a value of approximately US$27 million.
South Korean-built drillship tapped for Saipem bareboat charter
Saipem has entered into a bareboat charter contract with South Korea's Samsung Heavy Industries for a new drillship that will be delivered in November 2021.
The contract with Samsung also provides an option to purchase the ship, which will be named Samsung Santorini.
Saipem said the vessel will be capable of operating at water depths up to 3,500 metres.
