The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) has announced a tender to construct Berth 1-z and dredge the adjacent area of water at the port of Odessa. The tender is open to Ukrainian and foreign companies.
The 254-metre-long Berth 1-z is designed for handling general cargo on the Androsovsky mole. A grain terminal will be built at the rear of the berth, said USPA Acting CEO Raivis Veckagans.
The dredging is expected to create a 12-metre depth under the berth, allowing it to accommodate Panamax vessels. The expected cost of works is UAH203.4 million excluding VAT (US$7.6 million).
Bidders are required to submit a package of documents by November 9. The works are expected to take a year.
