The Egyptian port of Al-Arish will undergo a series of infrastructure upgrades to enhance its export cargo-handling capacity, the Suez Canal Economic Zone confirmed recently.
The works will include construction of additional berths, a breakwater, and other facilities to allow cargo ships of greater tonnage to access the port. Silos will also be built to provide storage for sand, cement, and other locally-produced goods for later distribution to foreign markets.
The upgrades are scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2024.
