Bidding for the dredging work tender at two Azov Sea ports will close on February 2.
The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) has invited bidders to submit their offers to dredge 2.9 million cubic metres from the Mariupol port in the eastern Donetsk region and the port of Berdyansk in the southern Zaporozhe region.
The UAH499.9 million (US$18 million) project is expected to take eight months.
USPA head Rayvis Veckagans said the dredging work was urgent. "In this water area, there is a more intensive flooding than, for example, in the ports of Bolshaya Odessa, and this calls for a regular operational dredging," said Mr Veckagans.
