Royal IHC has held a keel-laying ceremony for the trailing suction hopper dredger Lesse at the MTG Dolphin shipyard in Varna, Bulgaria.
The 2,300-cubic-metre dredger is being built for Baggerbedrijf de Boer – Dutch Dredging.
The 79.9-metre Lesse, which has a 15-metre beam and 4.6-metre draught, is due to be delivered in March 2019.
Its design is based on the dredging company's Albatros (2013) and Mahury (2015).
