After completion and successful sea trials, the 8,000-cubic-metre trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) Ghasha, owned by National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC) of Abu Dhabi, has left the Netherlands to start its first project in the UAE.

The DP-equipped vessel is the second TSHD to be supplied by Royal IHC to NMDC after the 6,000-cubic-metre Arzana.

Ghasha's operations can be monitored via the crew's mobile devices with the aid of NMDC's own dredger fleet monitoring system.
