The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) is close to taking delivery of trailing suction hopper dredger Mahaa Jarraafu.
The 92.95-metre-long dredger, which was constructed by at Nantong Rainbow Shipyard in China, has a 50-metre dredging depth and a 3,700 cubic metre hopper.
Mahaa Jarraafu includes a state-of-the-art dredge pump and a slender hull for increased speed and low fuel consumption.
The US$36 million newbuild is on its maiden voyage to the Maldives, taking the long way home via Singapore. She is expected to arrive on October 30.
