New TSHD for Mexico’s SEMAR sails on delivery voyage

A new trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) slated for the Mexican Secretariat of the Navy (Secretaria de la Marina; SEMAR) has departed the Netherlands on its delivery voyage to its new owners.

Bahia San Carlos ("San Carlos Bay") was built by Royal IHC for SEMAR. The vessel recently completed sea trials in the North Sea.

The TSHD can dredge to depths of as much as 25 metres. Its applications include maintenance of ports and channels and land reclamation.
