Jan De Nul’s newest dredger completes initial sea trials

Jan De Nul Group has confirmed that the initial sea trials of Galileo Galilei, its newest trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD), have been successfully completed.

The trials were conducted in the Yellow Sea off China in temperatures as low as -26 degrees Celsius.

The 166- by 36-metre TSHD will have a hopper capacity of 18,000 cubic metres and a maximum dredging depth of 86 metres upon completion.
