The Dredging Corporation of India (DCI) and state-owned shipbuilder Cochin Shipyard (CSL) have entered into an agreement for the construction of a new trailing suction hopper dredger.

Construction of the vessel will take place at CSL's facilities in Kochi, Kerala state, with Netherlands-based engineering firm Royal IHC providing technical support.
