Dutch shipbuilder Neptune Marine has launched a new water injection dredger ordered by the Jan De Nul Group.
Pancho utilises an existing Neptune Marine workboat design while the dredging equipment was built in-house by Jan De Nul. The equipment includes the dredge pump, dredge pipes, winches, hydraulics, and other necessary components for an adapted pipeline routing on the fore ship.
Once completed, the vessel will be capable of dredging at depths of 20 metres.
Construction will soon begin on a near-identical sister of Pancho at Neptune Marine's Dordrecht facilities. These two vessels will be the fourth and fifth water injection dredgers in the Jan De Nul fleet.
Jan De Nul said Pancho will be used mainly in the Argentine dredging market.
